About the Project

Our stories are told in racing results and road rash.  They come from epic rides and epic fails.  They cover foolish shenanigans and acts of extraordinary grace.  When we tell our own stories, we also tell the stories of others.  We fill in the gaps in each others' narratives, and paint a brighter, broader, deeper picture as we go.

This project has roots in every corner of the Kansas City area cycling community.  As times pass and past events gather the embroideries that make a truly great anecdote, the stories of our people grow and improve.  As time passes, however, we also start to lose opportunities.  People move, drop away from the scene, or die.  Details are forgotten or conflated.  Great stories are lost every day via attrition of this sort.  As time is fleeting and madness takes its toll, it becomes more and more important to record and share our collective informal history.

We need to hear from you, as you are part of us.

"Keep the rubber side down!"
